That means that anyone is welcome to join our club to improve their communication and leadership skills. Our main objective is to build a fun and supportive environment for all our members while they build their skills to becom strong and confident communicators.
President's Message
For the upcoming year, I will be leading the Simcoe Speaker Toastmasters Club. I believe that the members have chosen me because they have trust in me that I can help to make the club healthy, strong and continue to grow. My first goal is to ensure the club will continue to remain strong by sharing the values of respect, integrity, service and excellence among all the members.
Last year, our club achieved the highest award "President's Distinguished Club" the first time in the club's history. This reflects what a strong team we have and I am so proud to be part of it. My second goal as the President is strive to achieve the same honour for this year. However, I know this will not be achieveable without the support from every single club member. I will be depending on all of you to work together to achieve this goal.
For those who do not know me well, I work at the Ontario Hospital Association as the Director of Convention Exhibits. My office is located on the 28th floor of Simcoe Place. I joined the club two years ago hoping to develop my communciation and leadership skills. I cannot tell you how much I have benefited by joining the club. Not only did I gain friendship from a very supportive group, but it had a great impact on my career too. This year, I was being invited to be a speaker at the Canadian Asssociation of Exposition Management Annual Conference. This gave me a great speaking opportunity outside the club's environment. I know I will not have done this without the experiences I gained from the club.
I truly believe that serving the club is the way I want to say my "thank you" for what I have gained from the club. As the president, I hope I can contribute my time and efforts to help the club continues to grow. I want to spread the message that toastmasters club provides an excellent environment for developing our communication and leadership skills.
My door is always open for you to contact me. If you have any suggestions or ideas how we can work together to strengten the club, please let me know. Remember, the club belongs to all of us, we have to work together to make things happen. I look forward to working with all of you.
